Natural Setting - Pool 1

NSPI Region III - 2003 Design Award Winner
NSPI International 2002 Technical Achievement Award Winner
This pool will take your breath away! Innovative design and expert
construction create an international award winner on a hillside,
over-looking the bayou. To construct this 913 square foot pool
(48’ X 24’ X 18’, 3.5’ to 8’ deep), Texas Pools excavated approximately
six feet deep to construct the platform for the pool. After the
piers were positioned, a 4 foot thick shelf was constructed to
tie them together. The pool was built above this foundation, and
moss rock boulders were set in place by a crane to surround a
4 foot raised spa.
And that’s not even the half of it! A large waterfall sits on
each side of the negative edge, and contains plant pockets to
soften the falls and embrace the nature. Sunken decks and elevated
decks work together to visually associate the landscape and the
house with the pool. It’s slate-stone decking coupled with the
formal balustrade, transition the formal look of the house to
the natural look of the pool. Overall, construction of this pool
took nearly a year and a half to build, and all of this was completed
before the homeowners had even broken ground on the home.
